There are so many events this weekend in Malta, so many things do to and experience that I’m including also Thursday the 20th.

Thurdsay 20th July

  • Malta Jazz Festival (from Thursday to Saturday 22nd).
    Starts at 8 PM – 10 PM, Valletta. 
    Listed as one of the world’s 5 greatest jazz festivals by Clash magazine, the Malta Jazz Festival it’s here! Great names on the stage from Mark Guiliana (David Bowie’s drummer), 5-time grammy award winner Antonio Sanchez (including a grammy for original score in Birdman), Al di Meola, one of Europe’s leading jazz guitarists Romain Pilon, Brazillian music with Munir Hossn, Nicholas Payton, Rino Cirinna, Nadine Axisa, Carlo Muscat, Dominic Galea, Joe Debono… amazing!

Friday 21st July

  • Guided Snorkelling Events with Sharklab Malta.
    Hosted by Il-Majjistral Nature and History Park
    Summer is now with us and during the hot months of July and August, Il-Majjistral Park offers an alternative experience of the park off the beach of Golden Bay and within the Marine Protected Area of Rdum Majjiesa.

    The park teams up with Sharklab-Malta to organise guided snorkelling trips for groups (age 9+). The fees include the rental of equipment where necessary and an activity fee which will help fundraise projects at Il-Majjistral Park and for marine research and awareness activities conducted by Sharklab-Malta.
    Snorkeling Activity duration: 2.5hrs (including coastal talk, briefing on shore) from 09:30 to noon.
    Age: 9 years and over (must be good swimmers)
    MInimum number to hold the session: 8

  • Malta International Food Festival 2017 – Mdina 
    At 6 PM till 11:55 PM
    Malta’s unique fortified medieval city Mdina will be hosting the 3rd edition of the Malta International Food Festival on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd July 2017; 3 days of gastronomic alfresco eating and drinking, as well as entertainment for everyone. Over the recent years, the festival has managed to attract pronounced attention from thousands who have visited the festival to taste the food from over 10 international cuisines. In total, an estimate of 30,000 people have attended during the previous editions.
    During this festival, patrons can indulge in freshly-prepared food. Desserts and surprises, together with live cooking shows and spectacles are the order of the day. Designated food areas are carefully decorated to give the visitors the opportunity to virtually transport themselves to the countries and regions being depicted through the culinary expertise of the chefs.
    Patrons are entertained with live performances on two different stages offering the likes of Malta’s finest artists which shall compliment to the atmosphere. Children will also have their share with activities and ongoing animation to their delight.

  • Floriana Ghost Tour VII

    point at 7:45pm in front of St Publius’ Parish Church. At 8pm sharp we leave for our first site. Discover the horror stories from Floriana’s history. Go into the places where murders and fraud were committed, creepy gardens, crypts and derilict cemetries. A one-time opportunity not to be missed. Book now by sms or phone on 79065040.     Price:15€. Bring a torch with you since we will be going into pitch-dark places where there is no other source of lighting.
  • Chadwick Lakes sunset and torchlight experience

    Another sunset and torchlight adventure. We will be meeting close to Bingemma chapel and at 20:00 hrs sharp start our trail. We would be watching sunset as we walk on the Victoria Lines. As the sun rests for the day, and night sets in we will explore Wied Qlejja (chadwick lakes). For more info, click here
  • Mellieħa Nights 2017 – 10th Edition, Free Event

    For the 10th consecutive year, the Mellieha Local Council will be organizing ‘Mellieha Nights’. This year ‘Mellieha Nights’ will be held between 21st and 23rd July and all activities will be held within the heart of the picturesque locality of Mellieha.
    ‘Mellieha Nights’ will start off on the evening of Friday 21st July, as from 8pm onwards at Mellieha Main Square, with a fantastic line-up of the best Maltese DJs, namely Lio, JJoy and Ziggy who will surely turn the night into an amazing one full of great music.

    Saturday 22nd July will see Mellieha main roads turned into pedestrian areas, where those who will be attending will have the opportunity to walk around while enjoying various musical shows and exhibition. The stages along Triq Gorg Borg Olivier will offer traditional folklore music by the Greenfields, Aurora Folk group and Maltese ‘Ghana’ and rock music by Kylie Coleiro and Klinsmann and the Planet Seed Band. Jazz music and choir singing will take place in Our Lady of Mellieha Sanctuary Courtyard and the Sanctuary itself. Local artisans and artists will be creating wonderful handmade works in an open air atmosphere and a local high-end motor vehicles show amongst many other attractions will be going on throughout the night. One can also opt for dining al fresco in one of Mellieha’s exquisite restaurants. An open-air barbecue will also be held at Mellieha Main Square and entertaining the audience there will be Artemocion Dance Studio, Cash and Band and Maltese entertainer Joe Demicoli.

    On Sunday 23rd July, live entertainment will be provided at Mellieha Main Square by Artemocion Dance Studio and Spiteri Lucas Band featuring amongst others Chiara, Debbie Scerri, J Anvil and Neville Refalo performing ‘A tribute to the Maltese Legends’.

    Both on Saturday and Sunday children will have different spots where to entertain themselves and for those who still haven’t tasted what the locality of Mellieha can offer with regards heritage and culture, Mellieha’s main attractions like the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mellieha and Mellieha World War II Shelters will remain open until late in the night.

    A ‘Park and Ride’ service will be provided from near the ex-Belleview Area towards the centre of the village on Saturday from 7.30pm onwards.

  • Nightwalk Charity In Mosta Valley

    21 July we will be trekking in the Mosta countryside. Our departure point will be next to Mosta dome, at about 8pm. Our main trek will be through Wied Speranza, trekking in the beautiful countryside on the way. Everyone is welcome to join in! For more info, click here
