Saturday, 7th of April

  • View the Regatta from Fort St Angelo, Valletta

    Enjoy the traditional Regatta from the most strategic platform in the Grand Harbour!
    For the occasion, admission to Fort St Angelo will be reduced to €2! Members of Heritage Malta enter for free.
    Using typical traditional Maltese boats, like the ‘frejgatini’, ‘kajjikki’ and ‘dghajjes tal-pass and tal-midalji’, the Regatta is a traditional rowing event that has been held in Malta since the middle ages. During the day, historical fencers from the Malta Historical Fencing Association will be present to show-off their impressive skills!

    Visitors will also have the opportunity to visit the upper part of Fort St Angelo, managed by the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, with tours commencing at 11.00hrs, noon & at 13.00hrs. Tickets at €5 for adults, €3 for seniors & students, and €1.50 for children (12 years & under go for free).
    Opening hours: 09.00hrs till 18.00hrs (last admission at 17.30hrs).
  • The Cittadella – 150 Years as a Non-Active Fortress
    April 1st 1868 brought a long chapter in the millennial story of the small, but imposing fortified town that has been dominating Gozo’s hilly landscape for centuries on end to a close. Gozo will celebrate this event with a series of activities starting on Saturday 7th April.
    Seminars, exhibitions, historical re-enactments and creative writing sessions for kids will be within the walls of the bastioned city. Admission to the Gozo Museum of Archaeology, the Gran Castello Historic House, the Gozo Nature Museum, the Old Prison, the Cittadella Visitor Centre and the Grain Silos will be free of charge.More information, click here
